I have the feeling that I probably went in the same circles that you did. Not sure if your printer is supported even with that. "In a network environment" is not the same as a networked printer. Thank youįor the moment it appears that you will need to use the "shared" option. I've run out of things to try so I ask, please, for suggestions. Searching for a solution online has turned up nothing that fits my situation. I did not want to enable sharing because I thought doing so would mean other users would need a password to print (and possibly other reasons). The printer was not detected on the network. I then tried 'Add a printer using IP address or hostname' using the IP of the 11 PC and the IP of the router and using both Autodetect and TCP/IP device. On the Windows 10 PC, I attempted to 'Add a printer' but the device was not automatically found. I just bought the 11 PC to be my main machine. Note that the printer had originally been connected to the 10 PC because the 10 PC was my main machine. I have since removed it in an attempt to solve this issue. The 10 PC did show the printer in Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
